I took a medical specialty aptitude test the other day. The test asked questions like "are you a 'doer' or a 'thinker'?, and came up with a ranking list of specialties that suit the test taker's personality.

My results were:

1 emergency med 49 points
2 radiology 46 points
3 general surgery 45 points
4 pulmonology 45 points
5 neurosurgery 44 points
6 anesthesiology 44 points
7 ophthalmology 44 points
8 otolaryngology 44 points
9 urology 44 points
10 thoracic surgery 43 points

This is interesting, because these are all specialties I have been pondering.
But who knows, maybe this is all the result of preconceptions I had when taking the test.
It was fun, and it's food for thought, anyway.
